❓ Frequently Asked Questions

I’ve put together answers to the most common questions I get—from how pricing works to what kind of jobs I take on. Whether it’s a quick repair or a major project, this will give you a good idea of what to expect.

Still unsure? Just send a message.

1. What areas do you cover?

I'm based in Dun Laoghaire–Rathdown and cover South Dublin and surrounding areas. If you're unsure whether I work in your location, just send a quick message—I’ll let you know.

2. What kind of jobs do you do?

Everything from small fixes to full renovations

3. How do I get a quote?

You can call, text, email, or fill out the contact form. For most jobs, I can give an estimate based on what you tell me—photos help a lot. For larger jobs, I usually arrange a quick visit to give an accurate quote.

4. Do you charge hourly or per job?

I offer flexible options:

  • Hourly - Smaller jobs or call-outs are usually charged hourly- €70 for the first hour, then €35/hour after that

  • Day Rate - Medium jobs can be priced as a half-day (from €145) or full-day (from €245)

  • Larger projects: are quoted as a fixed price after a quick site visit

  • I also offer popular service bundles for common jobs like bathroom refreshes, property touch-ups, home pre-sell or move-in opacks

5. Are materials included in the price?

My rates are for labour only. You can supply the materials, or I can pick them up and add them to the final invoice—everything is agreed in advance. If you decide to get materials yourself I'm happy to recommend you good-quality options.

6. When and how do I pay?

Payment is due once the job is complete, unless otherwise agreed for larger projects.

ou can pay by:

  • Cash/ Bank Transfer/ Revolut

7. Will I get a receipt or invoice?

Yes—every job comes with an invoice, whether it's a small repair or a full renovation. I can provide it on paper or by email, whichever you prefer.

7. Do I need to be home during the job?

Not necessarily. If access is arranged and you're comfortable, I can complete the work while you're away and update you with progress.

9. Do I need to pay a deposit or advance?

For most small jobs, no deposit is needed. For larger projects—like bathroom remodels or multi-day work—I may ask for a deposit to secure materials and booking. This will always be discussed and agreed before starting the job.

10. How soon can you start?

It depends on current bookings, but I try to be flexible—especially for small or urgent jobs. Get in touch and I’ll do my best to fit you in. For larger renovations, a bit more notice is helpful. If you have a specific deadline, let me know as early as possible and I’ll do my best to accommodate.

11. Do you guarantee your work?

Absolutely. I stand by the quality of my work. If something needs attention after the job is done, I’ll come back and make it right.

12. What if I can’t reach you during the day?

When I’m on a job, I focus on the work, so I might miss your call. Leave a quick message or text, and I’ll get back to you as soon as I’m free—usually within a few hours.

13. Can I contact you in the evening?

Yes—feel free to text, or email in the evenings. If I can’t respond,  I’ll follow up as soon as possible.

14. Do you work weekends?

I try to keep weekends free, but if it’s urgent or the only time you’re available, I’ll do my best to accommodate.

15. Do you work alone?

Depends on the project. For bigger jobs or anything that needs extra hands—I’ll bring someone I trust to help out and speed up the process.

16. Do you bring your own tools?

Yes—my van and tool storage is fully equipped. If there’s anything unusual needed for your job, I’ll let you know in advance.

17. Do you take on small jobs?

Sure. Whether it’s hanging a mirror, cutting hedges, or adjusting a door, I’m happy to take it on. No job too small.

18. Can you work directly with tenants?

If you're a landlord or property manager, I can coordinate everything with the tenant and send the invoice directly to you.

19. Can I change or cancel a booking?

Yes, life happens. If you need to reschedule or cancel, just give me as much notice as you can. For larger jobs with deposits, I’ll explain the cancellation terms when we book.

20. Can you help me plan a renovation or project?

Definitely. If you're not sure where to start, I can walk you through your options, help with material choices, and suggest the best way to get the results you want—within your budget.
